Ian Brownbill

Managing Director of Advent IT since 2007, Ian combines his geeky background with his desire to communicate, with clarity, the technical excellence of solutions and products. His technical journey began, as a five year old, when he first got his hands on a BBC Micro. This was the start of an exciting journey, which in 1995 enabled him to be one of the first technical support engineers in RM’s pioneering Internet team. After gaining a first in Computer Science at Nottingham University, Ian continued to work for RM before joining Advent IT in 2001.

Now a family man, he enjoys long walks in the country and spending time with his 3 young children. He still loves gadgets and technical challenges and spends most of his time translating customer needs to viable solutions. Ian finds it very rewarding to be able to use his skills to solve the problems faced by Advent IT's customers.

Leo Seccia

Leo Italian born, Leo came to live in Sussex when he was fourteen. His family regularly remind him of his early obsession with taking apart anything, electrical or mechanical, he could get his hands on. His first computer had less power than any of today’s mobile phones but he remembers it with a passion.

Leo worked hard learning English and getting excellent grades to study at Brighton University where he gained an honours degree in Software Engineering in 2006. While studying, Leo became a father, had a job fixing computers in a basement shop and successfully completed a placement year developing mobile and embedded software.

Since 2007 Leo has been a key member of Advent IT’s team, interacting with customers and solving  their toughest, 3rd line, technical support problems. Leo is the software architect for some of Advent IT’s major internet based solutions and is always at the forefront of new technologies. He regularly contributes to the software development community by responding to forum posts. This experience allows him to propose highly innovative solutions giving our customers a real advantage.

Matt Haynes

Matt Matt joined Advent IT in 2008 bringing a combination of experience well suited to our core business of healthcare IT systems. He has experience of bespoke software, both as a customer and as a supplier, having worked as a supply chain analyst for several years. Matt has a fascination with science, he has an undergraduate degree in sports science covering anatomy and human physiology and is an avid reader of ‘New Scientist’. He also has a master’s degree in information systems, which in parallel with his commercial experience, gives him a good understanding of customer needs, costs and budget pressures.

A sports freak, a self-confessed mad snowboarder, and a two-time London marathon veteran, Matt is persistent and not afraid of doing everything necessary to get things completed. He looks after a number of our major healthcare customers and is responsible for the whole life-cycle of their projects. Personable and easy to talk to, Matt is always available to listen to and understand our customers’ needs.
