Ian Brownbill

Ian has been Managing Director of Advent IT since 2007. He first joined our firm as a consulting engineer in 2001 following his early career in RM’s pioneering internet team.Knowledgeable and personable, Ian is a rare commodity because he’s an all-round IT professional with great people skills. His combined business management and consulting experience enables him to focus on proposing solutions that provide a robust strategic fit for our customers’ requirements. By building genuine partnerships with companies, Ian has been become a trusted adviser and also enjoys offering his services as technical director.
A great believer in actively developing the company, Ian encourages and participates in, regular technical and personal development training. He believes that this has helped to produce a happy and confident team which in turn leads to an excellent customer experience.
As a family man, Ian cherishes his free time and enjoys bike riding, seaside explorations, building ‘lego’ constructions and long walks in the country with his wife and three young children. |
Matt Haynes

Matt joined Advent IT in 2008 bringing a combination of experience well suited to our core business of healthcare IT systems. He has experience of bespoke software, both as a customer and as a supplier, having worked as a supply chain analyst for several years. Matt has a fascination with science, he has an undergraduate degree in sports science covering anatomy and human physiology and is an avid reader of ‘New Scientist’. He also has a master’s degree in information systems, which in parallel with his commercial experience, gives him a good understanding of customer needs, costs and budget pressures.A sports freak, a self-confessed mad snowboarder, and a two-time London marathon veteran, Matt is persistent and not afraid of doing everything necessary to get things completed. He looks after a number of our major healthcare customers and is responsible for the whole life-cycle of their projects. Personable and easy to talk to, Matt is always available to listen to and understand our customers’ needs. |
Scarlett Anderson

Scarlett has rejoined us as our software support specialist fronting our highly praised customer service after graduating from the University of Brighton. She has a love of exploring new places and travelled in India, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji in her gap year so we are delighted that we have managed to coax her back to Advent IT! Scarlett enjoys the challenge of making things happen at work, she is highly organised, never forgetting a task and a great project manager. Her motivation and tenacity make her a fantastic software tester, driving our developers wild, while making our customers smile. She is a warm communicator, enjoys learning new processes and technologies and provides a very positive technical support experience for our customers. |
James Mills

James is currently in his final year at Brighton University studying for his degree in Business Computer Systems. In the summer of 2010 he joined us for his placement year as our business software trainee. He blossomed in this role becoming a bright and energetic communicator providing easy to follow solutions to our customers’ support problems.He is undertaking his degree project in association with us and will also be available during the year to help us provide additional testing and customer support when we most need it. We are actively monitoring his progress in his final year as we have an active interest in his future career choices. Good luck James! |
