Thriving under pressure
After graduating, I've returned to Advent IT in the new role of software support specialist, following a fantastic placement year with the company.
During my placement year I was a general trainee learning and providing customer support, software testing and project management. I had a great training programme and benefited from weekly one-to-one meetings with my line manager. This provided the perfect environment to help me to build on my strengths and to identify and overcome my weaknesses.
I was able to undertake new and exciting challenges and I learnt a lot about myself. I became more independent and felt confident organising my day ensuring I always met deadlines before they were due. My placement experience helped to guide my final year choice of degree modules and my newly learnt time management and task planning skills gave me a great advantage during my assignments, final year project and exam preparation.
I was thrilled to be offered a graduate job at Advent-IT and it’s great to be back in a working environment that I enjoy, being part of a team with a ‘can do’ attitude. At Advent IT I get to work in an environment where there are new and exciting challenges everyday allowing me to use my initiative and deliver the best job possible. I thrive under pressure and therefore enjoy the challenges and pressures that this job brings. I’m constantly pushed to reach my full potential and achieve greater things for both customers and colleagues. This is what makes my job so exciting.
After only being away for one year it is fantastic to see how much the company has developed. I am excited to grow with the company and be part of all the challenges the future holds.
